Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the mobile game Mochi Monsters (the "game") handles information. The game is published by Preerapong Kanokviboonsri, an individual developer based in Thailand ("we", "us"). If you have any question, email james@depentra.com.
- No account. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, photos, contacts or precise location.
- Your game progress is stored only on your device.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob and uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics only runs if you agree to it in the consent message.
- Players under 13 only get child-safe, non-personalised ads, and we never ask them for tracking permission.
- You can change your ad privacy choices at any time in the game's Settings.
1. Information stored on your device
To save your game, the following is stored on your device only. We cannot see it, and it is not sent to us:
- scores, statistics, collection book, achievements, daily challenge results and streaks;
- settings (sound, music, haptics, reduced motion, language) and booster inventory;
- a saved copy of a game in progress, so you can continue it later;
- a random installation number, a record of rewards you received (so a reward is never given twice) and when ads were last shown (so ads are not shown too often);
- the result of the age question (see section 2): only whether you are under 13 and under 16, never your year of birth.
On Android, this data may be included in your device's own backup to your Google account if you have backup turned on. You can delete it at any time with Settings, Reset progress in the game, or by uninstalling the game.
2. Age question and children
Mochi Monsters is a game for everyone, including children. The first time the game starts, it asks for your year of birth with a neutral question. The answer only decides how ads work for you. Because a year of birth cannot tell exactly how old someone is, the game always assumes the younger possible age.
| Age (from the answer) | How the game treats you |
|---|---|
| Under 13, or no answer yet | Child mode. Every ad request is marked as child-directed (US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and as coming from a user under the age of consent (EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation). Ads are non-personalised and limited to content suitable for general audiences. We never show the tracking permission prompt. |
| 13 to 15 | Ad requests are marked as coming from a user under the age of digital consent. Ads are non-personalised and limited to general-audience content. We never show the tracking permission prompt. |
| 16 or over | Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent before ads can be personalised, and you can say no. On iPhone and iPad, we may ask for permission to track (see section 3). |
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The game has no chat, no user profiles, no sharing features and no purchases. Analytics in the game is used only to understand and improve the game (section 4), never for advertising. If you are a parent or guardian and have questions, or believe we have information about your child, email james@depentra.com and we will help.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game is free because it shows ads provided by Google AdMob: small banners on the home and results screens, an occasional full-screen ad between games, and optional rewarded ads that you choose to watch for a revive or a booster. Ads never appear while you are playing a round.
To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:
- your device's advertising identifier, where permitted (see below);
- your IP address, which Google uses to estimate your general location;
- device and app information such as device model, operating system, language and app version;
- how you interact with ads (for example, whether an ad was shown or tapped).
Consent and privacy choices
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or a US state with privacy laws, the game shows Google's consent message before ads are requested. You can change your choice at any time in the game under Settings, Privacy choices (this option appears where it applies). If you do not consent, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalised.
iPhone and iPad tracking permission
For players aged 16 or over, the game may show Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", your device's advertising identifier is not shared and ads are not personalised with it. The game works exactly the same either way.
To learn how Google uses information from apps that use its services, see Google's explanation.
4. Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played, find problems and improve it. It records events such as a game starting or ending, the score reached, merges and Mochis discovered, booster use, achievements, and ad events (for example, whether a rewarded ad was completed). It also records general information such as app version, device model, operating system, language and approximate location (country and city) derived from your IP address. Google does not store the IP address for Analytics.
Analytics uses a random identifier created by Firebase for this installation. It is not linked to your name or identity. We have configured Analytics so that it does not collect advertising identifiers and does not use analytics data to personalise ads.
When analytics runs
Analytics is switched off when the game starts and is only turned on once the game has checked where it may run:
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland: only if you agree, in Google's consent message, to information being stored on and read from your device. If you do not agree, or have not answered yet, no analytics data is collected. You can change your choice at any time in Settings, Privacy choices.
- Players under 16: analytics only runs where the game knows the player is outside those regions. Players under 16 in those regions never have analytics data collected, even if someone agrees in the consent message.
- Everywhere else: analytics runs on the basis described in section 5.
5. Why we process information
We process information to run and save the game, to show ads that keep it free, to measure and protect those ads against fraud, and to understand and improve the game.
Where the EU or UK GDPR applies (the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), advertising and analytics that store or read information on your device are based on your consent, collected through Google's consent message. If you decline, Google may still show limited, non-personalised ads that do not use such information, and no analytics data is collected.
Elsewhere, including under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act, personalised advertising is based on your consent where the law requires it, and analytics, non-personalised advertising and fraud prevention are based on our legitimate interests in providing a free, working game. Children's data is handled as described in section 2.
6. Sharing and international transfers
We do not sell your personal information and we do not run servers that receive it. Information is processed by Google as our advertising and analytics provider, under Google's terms and privacy policies. Google may process this information in the United States and other countries; Google uses legal safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for international transfers. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
7. How long information is kept
Information stored on your device stays until you reset your progress or uninstall the game. Detailed Analytics event data is deleted by Google after 2 months; summary reports without individual details may be kept longer. Advertising data is kept by Google according to its own retention policies.
8. Your choices and rights
- Ad privacy choices: in the game, Settings, Privacy choices (where available).
- Tracking on iPhone and iPad: Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking on your device.
- Advertising ID on Android: Settings, Google (or Privacy), Ads, where you can reset or delete it.
- Delete your game data: Settings, Reset progress in the game, or uninstall the game.
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU or UK GDPR, Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act or US state laws), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to or restrict its use, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because we do not keep your data on our own servers, most requests can be handled through the choices above; for anything else, email james@depentra.com and we will help, including with requests to Google.
9. Security
Game data on your device is protected by your device's own security. Communication between the game and Google's services is encrypted (HTTPS).
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top. For important changes, we will also let you know in the game.
